ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) releases call-up letters for 2026 Batch A Stream 1 prospective corps members, confirming revised orientation arrangements due to limited camp capacity.
In a statement published on its official X account on Monday, the scheme says some corps members deployed to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will complete their three-week orientation in neighbouring states.
According to the NYSC, those posted to Lagos will attend camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun and Osun, while some assigned to the FCT will be oriented in Kaduna, Niger and Nasarawa states.
The NYSC explains that the decision follows logistical constraints. “Only about 40 per cent of registered Prospective Corps Members can be accommodated for the upcoming orientation programme,” the scheme says, citing capacity limits at existing camps.
“Prospective corps members are advised not to travel at night to the orientation camp,” it warns.
The scheme also stresses the importance of documentation ahead of arrival. It says all required forms must be printed and duly signed before camp registration begins. In a separate notice, the NYSC cautions that inconsistencies in official records will lead to disqualification at the camp gate.
“Prospective Corps Members with discrepancies in the Date of Graduation on their call-up letters and the date on their Statement of Results will not be registered in the Orientation Camp,” the statement reads. Affected candidates are directed to resolve such issues with their institutions’ Student Affairs Officers before reporting.
Special guidance is also issued for married female prospective corps members. The NYSC says those not posted to their husband’s state of domicile should report to the nearest orientation camp. For concessional postings, it adds that applicants must upload a marriage certificate, proof of husband’s identity and a letter confirming the husband’s place of domicile.
