ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Ministry of Education reiterates its commitment to transparency and accountability in procurement decisions during its 7th Ministerial Tenders Board (MTB) meeting for 2025.
The meeting, held on December 30, 2025, reviews procurement submissions from institutions under the ministry’s supervision.
Presiding over the session, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Eniitan, says value for money and fitness for purpose remain central to all procurement approvals. “Value for money and fitness for purpose remain the guiding principles for all MTB decisions to ensure judicious use of public funds,” Eniitan states.
The board also reviews progress reports from its previous meeting, with the Director of Procurement confirming that all approvals from the 6th MTB meeting have received ministerial clearance and are ready for execution in line with due process.
Participants emphasise strict compliance with procurement regulations, timely project execution and alignment with national interest to improve educational service delivery nationwide.
Officials note that rigorous scrutiny of proposals ensures transparency while strengthening institutional performance across the education sector.
The ministry says the sustained focus on due process reflects broader efforts to optimise public resources and enhance accountability in Nigeria’s education system.
