EPE, Nigeria – The Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe (FUSTECH), Lagos State, has secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 34 undergraduate programmes, clearing a major hurdle towards admitting its first students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval provides for 50 students per programme, giving the newly established university a combined admission quota of 1,700 students.

In a statement issued on Monday, the commission confirmed the approved quota, saying: “The NUC approved an admission quota of 50 students for each programme, bringing the total approved quota to 1,700 students across the 34 programmes.”

The NUC clarified that the approval covers full-time programmes only. It said the proposed part-time mode of delivery would require a separate request for consideration. The approved courses are distributed across five faculties: Computing and Informatics; Engineering; Allied Health Sciences; Management Sciences and Technology; and Science.

They include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering, Nursing Science, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Entrepreneurship, Marine Science, Biotechnology, Forensic Science, Medicinal Chemistry and Nuclear Science, among others.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Kazeem Oshikoya expressed the university’s readiness to begin its inaugural admission process.
