Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo
ANAMBRA, Nigeria – The Anambra State Government has directed health workers across its public health facilities to remain at their duty posts during official working hours and obtain proper authorisation before leaving their workplaces.
The directive was issued on Monday by the State Hospital Administrator, Dr. Frank Ifeanaeme, in a message addressed to heads of health institutions across the state.
Ifeanaeme said the measure was aimed at strengthening discipline, accountability and uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
He instructed all healthcare personnel to remain available at their assigned duty stations throughout working hours and to seek approval through the appropriate channels whenever they need to leave.
The hospital administrator also directed all health workers to participate in the ongoing personnel verification exercise at the State Secretariat.
According to him, workers who fail to complete the verification exercise risk exclusion from the process, suspension of salary payments and possible classification as having absconded from duty.
He explained that the exercise is intended to maintain accurate personnel records while improving accountability across government health institutions.
Ifeanaeme further charged heads of hospitals and other health facilities to ensure full compliance with the directive, stressing that the commitment and availability of healthcare workers remain critical to delivering timely and quality healthcare services to residents.
The directive forms part of the state’s broader efforts to strengthen public healthcare administration and improve service delivery under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
