LAGOS, Nigeria – The Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olusegun Odumbaku, has pledged his administration’s full support for the Lagos State Primary Health Care (PHC) Taskforce as it commences a statewide vaccination campaign against preventable diseases.
Odumbaku made the commitment after the taskforce’s inaugural meeting on Monday, chaired by Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, with all 57 council chairmen in attendance.
He announced plans to establish a local monitoring committee that will collaborate with the state taskforce to ensure full immunisation coverage in Ojodu.
“Our administration fully supports the state’s vaccination campaign. The health of our children is our top priority—they represent our future,” Odumbaku said.
He revealed that his council had renovated four health centres in Apata, Akiode, Powerline, and Gbadamosi communities, while the Oluwole Health Centre has been upgraded with modern facilities.
Odumbaku added that over 50 health workers were recently employed across the LCDA, and that more than 600 minor surgeries had been conducted in recent months.
“We are determined that every child in Ojodu receives the required vaccinations. Our awareness campaign will reach parents, schools, and religious leaders,” he said.
