SOKOTO, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force announces that physical and credential screening for applicants seeking recruitment as police constables will begin March 9, 2026, in Sokoto State.
According to the Sokoto State Police Command, the exercise will take place at the Command Headquarters on Gwandu Road and continue until April 18, 2026, with daily activities starting at 7:00 a.m.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, urges applicants who completed the online registration to verify their status through the official police recruitment portal and print the required screening documents.
Candidates must attend the exercise strictly on the date indicated on their invitation slips and arrive with all required credentials arranged in two white flat files.
The mandatory documents include the application submission slip, physical screening form, invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number (NIN) printout, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or age declaration, and proof of local government or state of origin.
Applicants are also required to present a completed guarantors’ form with passport photographs. Those applying for specialist roles must submit evidence of their trade test certificates.
The Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, Ahmed Musa, stresses that the recruitment process remains completely free of charge and warns candidates against falling victim to fraudsters.
“The recruitment exercise is entirely free. Applicants should report anyone demanding payment in connection with this process,” Musa says.
He urges candidates to cooperate with officials and follow instructions to ensure the screening exercise proceeds smoothly.
Police authorities say the nationwide recruitment exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force and improve public safety across the country.
