LAGOS, Nigeria – The Omobolanle and Victor-Laniyan Foundation provide food assistance to more than 2,000 widows, single mothers and vulnerable residents during its annual Megapraise FoodFest in Lagos.
The outreach, held at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry in Oniru, Victoria Island, draws beneficiaries from Mushin, Ajah, Egbeda, Shomolu and surrounding communities.
Chairman of the foundation, Dr Victor Laniyan, says the initiative reflects a long-standing commitment to reducing hunger and supporting underserved Nigerians. “Our focus is on tackling hunger and uplifting vulnerable communities,” Laniyan says.
Beyond food distribution, the programme features praise and worship sessions, prayers and live performances, creating what participants describe as an atmosphere of hope and unity.
Speaking at the event, Dr Moses Abiola highlights the importance of collaboration in humanitarian work.
“Volunteerism and partnerships remain critical to expanding social impact,” he says.
Dr Laniyan reveals that the foundation plans to scale up interventions nationwide, setting a five-year target of reaching five million direct beneficiaries between 2026 and 2030.
He notes that rising food costs and economic pressures make community-based interventions increasingly vital.
Beneficiaries describe the support as timely, saying it provides relief amid ongoing economic challenges.
The foundation says it will continue to focus on food security, social welfare and faith-driven community development as part of its long-term vision.
