BAUCHI, Nigeria – Activities at the Bauchi State House of Assembly halted Friday as parliamentary staff began a strike demanding full financial autonomy for state legislatures.
PASAN chairman,Adamu Yusuf, explained the action followed failed negotiations and directives from the union’s national leadership.
Yusuf said, “PASAN has previously struck to enforce the Financial Autonomy Act, yet full implementation remains pending.”
Governor Bala Mohammed received praise for supporting legislative independence, reflecting national demand for democratic accountability.
The strike highlights ongoing efforts by parliamentary workers to secure fiscal autonomy and strengthen legislative authority across Nigeria.
