NAFDAC Trains Patent Medicine Dealers on Compliance, Best Practices

MINNA, Nigeria – The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has trained patent medicine vendors in Niger State on regulatory compliance and modern pharmacy practices.

During Tuesday’s workshop, NAFDAC Niger Coordinator, Pharmacist James Kigbu said the training is vital to ensuring safe distribution of drugs and closing healthcare gaps.

“This workshop equips you to navigate regulatory changes and ensure medicine safety across communities,” Kigbu told participants.

The session focused on ethics, supply chain monitoring, digital tools, and quality management as part of NAFDAC’s five strategic pillars.

Vendors play a critical role in Nigeria’s healthcare system, especially in underserved rural areas where access to doctors is limited.
