Kano Partners Islamic Development Bank to Drive Growth, Development

KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Government is deepening ties with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to accelerate infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural development.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment during a courtesy visit by IsDB Vice President (Operations), Dr. Rami Ahmad, on Tuesday.

“We are determined to work hand in hand with the Bank to accelerate growth, create opportunities, and improve the living standards of our people,” Gwarzo said, presenting a letter of appreciation.

He praised the impact of the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP), citing interventions in abattoirs, milk collection centres, and road networks.

Dr. Ahmad hailed Kano as a “strategic partner” and pledged continued support. “We value Kano’s vision and will expand collaboration to deliver lasting growth,” he said.

The visit underscores Kano’s growing international partnerships as it positions itself as a hub for sustainable development in Northern Nigeria.
