“I am pleased to inform you that Mr. President has approved the Year 2025 disbursement guidelines, totaling N700 billion,” Echono stated. “This allocation aligns with national education priorities and focuses on upgrading, rehabilitating, and renovating dilapidated infrastructure in our beneficiary institutions.”

The Annual Direct Disbursement per institution is as follows; Universities: N2.86 billion each, Polytechnics: N1.99 billion each, and Colleges of Education: N2.17 billion each

Echono emphasised that the 2025 allocation will significantly boost research, academic staff training, and book development.

“We have expanded support for Research and Innovation, Academic Staff Training, and Special Projects, ensuring direct impact on learning and development,” he added.

He also commended the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for improved revenue collection and urged institutions to ensure prudent fund utilization and fast-track procurement to access the 2025 allocation.

“I call on all heads of beneficiary institutions to fully utilize their 2024 and previous allocations while ensuring timely payments to contractors and vendors,” he said.
