The Nigerian Afrobeat sensation whose birth name is Temilade Openiyi, has won her second Grammy Award, taking home the coveted Best African Music Performance category for her soulful song “Love Me Jeje”.
This triumph marks her first solo Grammy win, following her previous award for her contribution to Future’s “Wait For U”.
Tems’ victory is all the more sweet, considering she outshone other talented Nigerian artists in the same category, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Burna Boy.
