Kano Government Fixes September Resumption Dates for All Schools

KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Government has announced September 7 and 8, 2025, as resumption dates for all public and private schools in the state for the 2025/2026 academic session.

A statement on Wednesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, said boarding schools are to resume on Sunday, September 7, while day schools are to reopen on Monday, September 8.

The statement urged parents and guardians to take note of the resumption dates to ensure full compliance, warning that defaulting students and pupils would face disciplinary action.

Quoting the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, the statement said the government remains committed to routine monitoring exercises to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency.

“I want to use this medium to reemphasize the Ministry’s commitment to routine monitoring exercises to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency,” Makoda said, while wishing teachers, students, and pupils a successful academic session.
