The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful and members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), commending their dedication to national service.
This information was contained in a statement signed by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau on Thursday, a copy of which was obtained by Africa Health Report (AHR).
“As we mark the celebration of Easter, I extend my heartfelt greetings to each and every one of you, those at home, on duty, and in various theatres of operations across the country and beyond,” General said.
He highlighted the significance of Easter as a period of reflection, renewal, and hope. He described it as a time to remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ and to draw inspiration from the values of courage and triumph over adversity.
“This is especially significant to the members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” he noted, praising their daily embodiment of sacrifice, loyalty, and patriotism.
He further acknowledged the fallen heroes, saying, “May their memories remain eternal and may their service never be forgotten.”
The CDS called on the AFN to embrace the spirit of Easter by renewing their commitment to duty, discipline, and professionalism.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, adding, “Together, we will continue to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty with honour and dignity.”
General Musa concluded by praying for divine protection and strength for all service members and their families during the Easter season.
