In a dramatic turn of events on Sunday afternoon, a three-storey building under construction on Agarawu Street, Lagos Island, collapsed on Sunday evening, leaving many victims trapped inside.

Emergency workers quickly mobilized to the site, working tirelessly to rescue those in need. In a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos, two individuals were successfully extricated and transported to the hospital for treatment.

The Lagos Police Command has confirmed the incident, reassuring the public that no lives were lost in the collapse.

The police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin noted that responders had cordoned off the area to ensure safety and facilitate ongoing rescue operations.

The swift response from emergency services highlights the urgency of the situation, as they continue to search for any additional victims.

This incident marks another troubling event in Lagos, occurring just a month after a similar building collapse on Oriwu Street in Lekki Phase 1.
