A devastating road accident occurred in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of three lives.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when a container-laden truck lost control and fell on a commercial tricycle at Takie Junction around 9:30 a.m.
The victims, including two female passengers and the tricycle rider, were tragically killed on the spot.
“The victims were trapped under the container as the large object fell on the vehicles they were traveling in,” a source at the scene of the accident revealed.
Africa Health Report (AHR) gathered that the articulated vehicle reportedly lost control while navigating a bend, causing the container to topple and crush the tricycle.
Rescue efforts confirmed the fatalities, and efforts are underway to remove the container and restore traffic flow in the area.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution while approaching the affected section of the road.
