Police Arrest 751 Cybercrime Suspects in 2024

The Nigerian Police Force has made significant strides in combating cybercrime, announcing the arrest of 751 suspects for cybercrime-related fraud in 2024.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Tuesday, the force secured 14 convictions out of 508 cases during the same period.

This achievement demonstrates the police force’s commitment to tackling cybercrime and bringing perpetrators to justice.

According to Adejobi, the police force’s efforts have also led to significant recoveries, including $840,000 for victims of cybercrime, as well as N914 million and over $115,000 frozen in various bank accounts and crypto wallets.

Additionally, 26 vehicles, 16 houses, and 39 plots of land were recovered.

He concluded that the successes underscore the effectiveness of the police force’s strategies in combating cybercrime and protecting Nigerians from its harmful effects.
