The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has clarified that it was not involved in the viral video showing individuals bursting sachet water packs at factories and on buses.
In a statement released to Africa Health Report (AHR) on Monday, the agency distanced itself from the actions depicted in the video, stating that the people seen in the footage were neither NAFDAC officials nor part of its Investigation and Enforcement team.
“Furthermore, stopping vehicles to destroy products is unprofessional and does not align with any NAFDAC Standard Operating Procedure,” the statement read.
NAFDAC also urged the public to rely on its official social media pages for accurate updates on its enforcement activities.
