The remains of the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, have arrived in Abuja ahead of his final interment.
The body is currently being transported to the National Christian Centre for a service of songs, as part of the ongoing funeral arrangements.
A Military Parade will follow on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the National Military Cemetery, where Lagbaja will be laid to rest.
Lagbaja, who passed away on November 5, 2024, was appointed Chief of Army Staff on June 23, 2023. During his tenure, he made significant strides in enhancing Nigeria’s security infrastructure.
His leadership and contributions to the military will be remembered by many.
The Osun-born senior officer is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and extended family, who are mourning his loss.
The funeral ceremonies are expected to be attended by top military officials, government representatives, and colleagues, honouring his legacy and service to the nation.
