Chief of Defence Staff Commends Troops on Eid-El-Maulud, Lauds Killing of Notorious Bandit

 

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-El-Maulud, celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

This was contained in a press statement released on Monday and signed by Brigadier General Tukur, Director Defence Information. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings, emphasizing peace, compassion, tolerance, justice, and service to humanity.

General Musa commended members of the Armed Forces for their unwavering commitment and valour in addressing security challenges.

He specifically praised troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA for neutralizing notorious bandit leader Haliru Buzu and others in Zamfara State. The CDS also appreciated the efforts of Operation HADIN KAI troops in rescuing flood victims in Maiduguri.

According to the statement, “General Musa also salutes members of the Armed Forces who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment and valour in the face of various security challenges confronting our dear country. Particularly, the courage and bravery of the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in  Zamfara State for bringing down a notorious bandit leader, Haliru Buzu and others.

“The CDS also extended his appreciation to the troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri  for their noble role in rescuing thousands of flood victims during the recent devastating flood in Maiduguri.”

He encouraged the military troops to continue upholding discipline, loyalty, and integrity while working with other security agencies to defeat evil forces and restore peace. The CDS called on Nigerians to embrace tolerance, mutual understanding, and respect for constitutional authority, saying, “Let’s build a prosperous Nigeria.”
