We Bought Petrol at N898/Litre from Dangote Refinery-NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced that it purchased Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), known as petrol, from Dangote Refinery at N898 per litre.

The first batch of petrol was loaded today, with over 300 trucks from NNPC arriving at the refinery in Lagos State.

Speaking on Sunday, the NNPC spokesman Olufemi Soneye confirmed the price, refuting earlier claims that petrol was bought at N760 per litre.

Soneye stated that as of the report, “over 70 trucks had been loaded.”

Finance Minister Wale Edun, represented by Federal Inland Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji, had previously announced that NNPC would be the exclusive purchaser of refined petrol from Dangote Refinery.

Diesel will be available to any interested off-taker, while petrol sales will be managed solely through NNPC.

“The Federal Executive Council’s approval for the sale of crude oil to local refineries and the corresponding purchase of products in Naira has been finalised”.
