Women Affairs Minister Pays Midnight Visit to Facility Detaining 27 Children Linked to #EndBadGovernance Protests

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, conducted a midnight visit to a detention facility on Friday where 27 children are being held in connection with the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.

Announcing the visit on the Ministry’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, on Saturday, the Ministry highlighted that Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s visit was driven by her “unwavering commitment to child protection.” During the visit, the Minister assessed the conditions of the detained children, assuring concerned citizens that their rights and well-being would be preserved.

“While justice is administered, these children’s rights and well-being will be safeguarded,” the Ministry stated.

Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ministry affirmed its dedication to ensuring “every Nigerian child is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.”
