Residents of who came out as early as 7am, to exercise their franchise in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections  on Saturday have lamented late arrival of INEC officials and voting materials in their polling units

As at 11.30am in major polling centres in Magboro, Ogun State, INEC officials were yet to arrive the venues. As a result of this, people have already become agitated while the waiting game continues.

While some are expressing their disappointment over the late arrival of voting materials at Magboro Primary School polling Station, others have vowed not to leave the center until they cast their votes.

A resident, “Dewale”, said he would wait even if the INEC officials arrive by 3pm.

He narrated how he transferred his voting card and registration centre from Lagos to Ogun State, where he currently resides.

To him, the election will define the future of Nigeria, describing it as “all-important presidential election”.

Another person, Alex Iwalewa, said he came with every member of his family to vote, insisting that they won’t leave until they perform their constitutional right.

“We already came with water, vand if it finishes,we are going to buy more. We are ready to vote irrespective of unforseen circumstances,” he said.

Iwalewa said he voted in the same polling unit four years ago to cast his vote and wasn’t like this.

Many other people , especially women, pregnant women and physically challenged were seen sitting, waiting patiently for the arrival of the INEC officials.

In other three polling units  in Magboro namely:  Abule Oko, Oke Ayo and Gaun, there was no presence of INEC officials nor voting materials as at the time of filing this report.
