AY Makun, the Nigerian comedian, has begun to rebuild his Lagos home which was recently gutted by fire.
On August 7, there were reports of a fire outbreak at the comedian’s Lekki mansion.
In a viral clip, firefighters were seen trying to salvage what little was left of the home, which had been reduced to rubble.
In the wake of the fire incident, the comic actor hinted he and his family were safe outside the country. He, however did not confirm or deny the report.
Grace Makun, AY’s sister-in-law, also shared a video showing the aftermath of the fire at the comedian’s Lagos home.
Speaking about the incident for the first time on Saturday, AY said he is left with the only belongings he travelled with before the fire outbreak.
He also described the fire incident as “an adversity” that will be a “stepping stone to greatness”.
It feels weird to realize that the only clothes, shoes, and jewelries I have right now are the ones I traveled with… There is no such thing as going back to square one. We shall rebuild our lives using this adversity as a stepping stone to greatness. God, no go shame us. pic.twitter.com/WifiDbXD4d
