As voters express dissatisfaction over malfunctioning of Bimodal Voters Accreditation, (BVAS) machine in states across the country and lateness of staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission to polling units, Chairman of the Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has raised the alarm over stealing of the machines at PUs.

Addressing journalists on Saturday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Yakubu disclosed that his personnel were attacked in Oshimili in Delta State by party thugs who carted away some BVAS machines.

He said the same incident has been reported in North West state of Katsina where 6 BVAS machines were stolen at polling units by unidentified gunmen.

He said the stolen items have since been replaced in Oshimili while three out of the six stolen in Katsina have been recovered by security agents and voting has continued.
