The Nigeria National Petroleum Coporation Limited (NNPCL) has supplied Dangote Petroleum Refinery with its fourth shipment of one million barrels of bonny light crude oil.
This happened on Monday, January 1, 2024, a statement released by the company disclosed, adding that it is expecting its fifth shipment.
The statement confirmed that the fresh one million barrels of crude was the fourth consignment to be delivered to the Dangote facility out of the six million barrels of crude being expected by the world’s largest single-train refinery.
According to the statement, “The preparations for the commencement of production at Dangote Refinery are in full swing. The petrochemical company has received the fourth crude shipment of one million barrels of bonny light crude from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and anticipates the arrival of the fifth crude shipment imminently.
“This latest one million barrels of crude represents the fourth consignment delivered to the Dangote facility, out of the six million barrels of crude expected by the world’s largest single-train refinery,”
Prior to this development, Dangote refinery had earlier received three millions barrels of crude oil, the Managing Director of Dangote Ports Oerations, Mr. Akin Omole, had told newsmen at Dangote Quay at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
He added that the refinery would receive about four million crude shipment before the end of 2023 and the remaining two by the early of January 2024, enabling the refinery to commence operations in good stead.
The completion of the six million barrels will facilitate run of the refinery, as well as kick-start the production of diesel, aviation fuel, and LPG before subsequently progressing to the production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
