The National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, NIPRD, in partnership with World Bank funded National Malarial Elimination Program, NMEP and Bloom Public Health will be engaging critical Pharma Sector Stakeholders for the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Quality Improvement and Capacity Building program launch on Friday, 28th April, 2023 at the Eko Hotel, Lagos.

The World Health Organization, WHO, is a collaborator in the pre-qualification programme launch.

According to Nigeria’s Minister Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, in related statement, “I am pleased to see this initiative taking place in the nation’s pharma sector. It shows that production, regulations and supply of quality assured medicines is a shared endeavour of the public and core sectors.

“The concerted effort of both stakeholders is essential to assuring universal health coverage for better population health and wellbeing, as well as addressing need for protection of citizens from public health challenges.”

The acquirement of World Health Organization Pre-qualification (WHO PQ) by Nigerian pharmaceutical manufacturers could unlock a profusion of opportunities for increased sales and market access, both locally and internationally, as well as reduce over reliance on imports for public health interventions.
