Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has confirmed that the construction of the new Massey Children’s Hospital is on track for completion by mid-2025.
During a recent site inspection, the Governor announced that substantial construction work is expected to be finished by the end of 2024, with final touches to follow.
In a statement posted on his X account, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the significance of the project, stating, “We are establishing a foundation for growth, hope, good health, and well-being.” He further emphasized that the new facility will offer “advanced care and a supportive environment” for children in Lagos.
The new hospital, designed to replace the original Massey Hospital established in 1914, will feature 150 beds and state-of-the-art healthcare amenities. It aims to address the operational shortcomings of the previous facility while meeting the evolving healthcare needs of children in the state.
