NELFUND Directs Institutions to Verify, Upload Student Data on Digitised Loan Platform

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has directed all accredited tertiary institutions in the country to immediately verify and upload their students’ data on the newly digitised Student Loan Application System (SLAS).

According to a statement signed by NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi on Tuesday, institutions yet to join the system have been asked to request access via registration@nelf.gov.ng without delay. The access will enable institutions to view students’ loan applications, verify data, and track application status through a real-time dashboard.

The Fund also notified students whose loan status reads “Verified” that final approval and disbursement depend on their institution’s timely verification and data upload. “Once this process is completed, your status will be updated to ‘Disbursed’ when the payment of your fees has been processed,” the notice stated.

NELFUND urged all schools to prioritise the exercise in the interest of their students, warning that data verification remains a mandatory step for loan approval.
