The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Mr. Yakuba Chonoko Maikyau, on Monday disclosed it is collaborating with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in the fight against corruption through sensitization of its members to deal with the menace of money laundering and terrorism financing in Nigeria.
This was confirmed in a statement by the ICPC spokesperson, Demola Bakare during a courtesy visit to the ICPC chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu in Abuja.
“what we are trying to do is to sensitize our members to understand their responsibilities under the Rules of Professional Conduct, so that together, as a matter of lifestyle, we can support the fight against corruption. This is so that it becomes a part of our practice” Maikyau states.
The ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, expressed his appreciation to the NBA President and his team while stating that the two bodies had enjoyed a close relationship and he looks forward
to personally attend all enlightenment and education sensitization.
