Military Kills 1,937 Terrorists in 3 Months – DHQ

The Nigerian military has made significant strides in its fight against terrorism, neutralizing 1,937 terrorists and arresting 2,782 suspected terrorists and other criminal elements between July and September 2024.

The military’s offensive actions resulted in the neutralization of over 65 prominent terrorist leaders, commanders, and combatants. Some of the significant leaders eliminated include Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla, Ameer Modu, Matawal Bitrus, and Thomas Benedict, among others.

“Troops offensive actions   culminated in the neutralization of over 65 notable terrorist leaders, commanders and combatants across all theatres of operations. Significant terrorist leaders were eliminated from the battlefield.

“These include: Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla (Dan Hausawan Jubillaram), Ameer Modu, Matawal Bitrus, Thomas Benedict, Mohammed Sani, Rimamy (aka Omo), Terkimbi Injoko, Jacob Uzege, Ibn Kasir, Kachalla Ɗan Baleri, Kachallah Halilu Jimmare (Buzu), Kachalla Dan Ali Garin Fadama, Kachalla Dan Mani Na Inna, Kachalla Basiru Zakarriya and ofem Emmanuel Igwe among others.”, the statement read.

This impressive achievement was announced by Major-General Edward Buba, Director Defence Media Operations, in a press release obtained by Africa Health Report on Thursday.

According to the statement, the military successfully conducted synchronized bombardments by air and ground forces, significantly weakening terrorist capabilities and cohesion.

The military’s successful operations also led to the rescue of 1,854 kidnapped hostages, recovery of 1,304 weapons, and confiscation of 43,347 ammunition.

Furthermore, the military thwarted oil theft worth over N13 billion, recovering substantial quantities of stolen resources, including 688 AK47 rifles, 32,945 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, and 12,143,870 liters of stolen crude oil

“Accordingly, we are attacking any threat we identify, and removing it. The war objective is to destroy these groups, decapitate them, and erode their ability to rage terror attacks against citizens.”, General Buba said.
