Marketers Raise Hope of Fuel Price Reduction

The Independent Petroleum Association of Nigeria (IPAM) has given Nigerians hope of a possible reduction of fuel pump price following full operations in Port Harcourt Refinery by next month

Prior to this disclosure, the Managing Director, NNPCL, Mele Kyari announced that the Refinery will commence operations in a fortnight during an ad-hoc committee session focused on investigating The Turn Around Maintenance Project of Nigeria Refineries

“We did a mechanical completion of the (Port Harcourt) refinery, that was what we said in December. We now have crude oil already stocked in the refinery. We are doing regulatory compliance tests that must happen in every refinery before you start it, and I assure you that this Port Harcourt refinery will start in the next two weeks.

IPAM and MEMAN declare support and readiness to load products from facility if Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) of fulfilling promise of pumping refined products from plants.
