A total of 6.96 million people are multidimensionally poor in Katsina, a StatiSense report published on Tuesday has said.
This figure represents about 72.7 percent of the total population of the state.
The report also indicated that the state ranked 5th in the ease of doing business, has 6.52/10 percent inflation rate and recorded a total of 21.54.
The breakdown showed that the state has 2,646 nano, 19, 846 micro, 20, 287 small business and 1, 323 medium enterprises.
It added that Katsina has N12.04 billion internal generated revenue as at 2021, while total debt stood at N68.5 billion, out of which 63.4 billion is domestic and $53.9m is external debt.
The state also recorded 1.40 million out of school children within ages 6 to 15 l, which represented 45.90 percent total number of children in Katsina.
In 2011, Katsina has 133 child mortality rate per 1000 births, while in 2016, it recorded 68 and 89 in 2021. The under 5 mortality in the state was 225 in 2011, 135 in 2016 and 159 in 2021.
The report also showed that Katsina has not remitted employees and employers pension payments for the period under review, while capital importation stood at the $0.7 million in 2021 and none in 2022.
