Kaduna Govt Distributes Subsidized Rice to Civil Servants

The Kaduna State Government has initiated the distribution of subsidized rice to state civil servants as part of efforts to mitigate the impact of economic challenges.

The Head of Service, Hajiya Habiba Shekarau, flagged off the distribution ceremony in Kaduna, explaining that the subsidized rice is part of a broader strategy by both the federal and state governments to alleviate the financial burdens faced by citizens.

The subsidized rice will be sold to civil servants at a reduced price of forty thousand naira per bag. The state government has received ten thousand bags of rice, which will be distributed fairly among all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The Head of Service cautioned civil servants against selling the subsidized rice, emphasizing that such actions would violate service rules. Representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture and Human Services and Social Development expressed optimism that the initiative would provide significant relief to beneficiaries.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by key government officials, including the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development and the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Kaduna chapter.
