The Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has emphasised the responsibility of the agency in addressing hard-to-reach communities and ensuring equitable access to healthcare.
Speaking at a Monday meeting with the members of the Most Vulnerable Places-Integrated Supportive Supervision (MVP-ISS) Coordination Centre, led by Dr. Uzoamaka Epundu, in Abuja, he called on the team to look at practical methods for deploying supervisors and ensuring that no one is left behind.
He also stressed the importance of reaching remote and underserved communities where many people may not have access to basic healthcare services, while emphasising that the NPHCDA has a critical role to play in closing these gaps and delivering quality healthcare to every Nigerian.
“The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on the imminent deployment of supervisors to these areas. The objective is to enhance vaccination and primary healthcare services, thereby improving health and immunization metrics in regions with zero dose coverage,” he stated.
Dr. Shuaib urged them to explore strategies for deploying supervisors effectively, ensuring equitable access to healthcare and leaving no one behind.
