Illegal Substances now Concealed in Small Decorative Bottles, NDLEA Warns

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Sunday urged parents to be vigilant for small, decorative bottles in the bags or pockets of their children.

In a statement signed by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, it said the bottles are reportedly being used to package a substance known as Loud/Colos, particularly among youths in the affluent areas of Lekki, Ikoyi, and Victoria Island in Lagos, adding that the substances are sold at a considerable price, with each bottle fetching around 15,000 Naira.

Colos, a psychotropic drug that has rapidly gained popularity and has become a newfound love among young people, poses grave health risks and even death.

It is also a drug that comes from a synthetic mixture that contains heavy metals laced with chemicals, with weed as a mixture. Colos, it said, is unsafe for human consumption.

“Heads up to parents. Please watch out for these fanciful small bottles in the bags pockets of your kids. Each goes for 15k, NDLEA is already making arrests and seizures,” the statement posted on X read.
