A significant security presence, comprising Nigerian Police and State Security Service (SSS) personnel, has been observed surrounding the Emir’s Palace in Kano, on Friday.

This heightened security measure has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about the Emir’s planned activities.

Unverified sources indicate that the security deployment aims to prevent Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from traveling to Bichi, where he was scheduled to confer a traditional title on a new district head.

Another source suggests that the Emir was planning to address a group of economists on the topic of tax reform bills.

As of the latest reports, Emir Sanusi is currently engaged in a private meeting with palace officials and government representatives.

The specific agenda of this meeting remains undisclosed.

The heavy security presence has sparked concerns about potential tensions in the state.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
