The Ambassador of Greece to Nigeria, Mr Ioannis Plotas, has assured Nigeria of his country’s support for the Federal Government’s plan to lift Nigerians out of poverty.
He made this known during a courtesy call on the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, in Abuja.
A statement from the Ministry in Abuja on Saturday said the envoy’s visit was to strengthen cooperation between Nigeria and Greece, to support the Minister in her humanitarian responses, and “to explore the possibilities of further cooperation on the domain of humanitarian affairs.”
Responding, Dr. Edu commended the long-standing relationship between the two countries and promised to build on it to “ensure that Nigerians benefit from their support.”
