The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the temporary closure of Runway 18R/36L at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, for maintenance work.
According to a statement issued by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, the closure will take effect from 03:00 hours on March 3, 2025, and last until 23:59 hours on March 4, 2025.
FAAN explained that the closure is necessary due to “ongoing rehabilitation work (asphalt phase) at the A2 Taxiway-link of the runway.”
The authority assured travelers that flight operations would not be disrupted during this period, as all flights would be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R.
Reaffirming its commitment to operational efficiency, FAAN emphasized its dedication to “safety, security, and comfort.”
