Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has cautioned that the world might encounter another global pandemic in the next 25 years, provided a significant war does not occur.
He voiced his worries about the existing global instability and the risk of a large-scale conflict, while underscoring the continued reality of the pandemic threat, during a recent interview on CNBC’s Make It show,.
According to a report by Fox News Digital, Gates stated that if a major war is averted, it is probable that another pandemic will occur, likely within the next 25 years.
In light of the global unpreparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic, Gates expressed his concerns regarding how humanity would manage future health crises.
He pointed out the risk of new diseases emerging from animals and infecting humans, leading to significant health issues.
Gates also expressed disappointment in the United States for not living up to expectations during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted, “The nation that the world looked to for leadership and as a model did not meet those standards.”
