Environment Friendly Vehicles Will Curb Emission, Achieve Clean Energy – Minister

The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako has recommend the use of environment friendly vehicles like electric and compressed natural gas vehicles to reduce emissions and achieve clean energy.

The Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of the Minister, Ibrahim Haruna, made this known when the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Command, led by its Commandant, Corp Commander Chorrie Isah Muta’a, led his team on an official visit to the Minister in his office in Abuja.

The Minister reiterated that emission from vehicles is one of the major challenges of ensuring a secured and sustainable environment, adding that vehicles must be in good working condition in order to maintain minimal level of emission and to achieve this, the FRSC must double its effort in the creation of awareness, as well as educate and caution motorists accordingly.

Salako assured the Corp Commandant that his ministry is committed to collaborate with the commission to ensure safety on our roads by ensuring timely dissemination on bad weather conditions which may have adverse effects on motorists.

Earlier, the Sector Commandant, Mr. Muta’a noted that the visit was important for effective collaboration, emphasising that environmental issues contribute a lot to their ororganisation.
