The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has confirmed the disbursement of N585 million naira following a viral document alleging the transfer of the said amount into a personal account.
The document, purportedly signed by Edu and directed to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, indicated that the funds were instructed to be disbursed to an individual named Oniyelu Bridget.
In response to the development, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Rasheed Zubair, clarified that the payment of the N585.198 million grant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states followed due process.
Zubair explained that the payment was made into Oniyelu Bridget’s account as she currently serves as the Project Accountant of Grants for Vulnerable Groups.
He noted that the project accountant’s use of the funds was legal within the civil service and that all expenditures would be duly accounted for with receipts and evidence upon completion of the project or program.
“Oniyelu Bridget is the Project Accountant for GVG from the Department of Finance, and it is legal in civil service for a staff, the project accountant, to be paid and use the same funds legally and retire the same with all receipts and evidence after the project or programme is completed.”
I loved even more than you will get done right here. The picture is nice, and your writing is stylish, but you seem to be rushing through it, and I think you should give it again soon. I’ll probably do that again and again if you protect this walk.
