The Federal High Court in Lagos State has delivered a verdict against Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju, the renowned medical doctor and founder of MedContour Services Ltd.
The conviction stems from a tragic incident involving a failed plastic surgery that led to the untimely death of one Nneka Onwuzuligbo in 2020.
Former Director-General of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Babatunde Irukera, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome via a post on X, stating, “Today is a day of pride for me that I personally prosecuted Anu Adepoju and her medical practice. This is how society should work and grow.”
Dr. Anu Adepoju and her medical practice were found guilty on all five counts charged by the FCCPC, marking a significant step towards ensuring accountability in professional services.
Irukera emphasised the importance of enforcing justice with audacity and diligence, highlighting the need for a robust accountability framework in society.
The conviction follows a series of legal proceedings initiated by the FCCPC in 2020, underscoring the commitment to upholding consumer rights and holding professionals accountable for their actions.
