The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, before Justice Daniel Osiagor has sentenced two internet fraudsters Emmanuel Nwanze and Omogbe Aroghene, in a suit seeking their conviction by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According a statement by the EFCC, the duo was arraigned on one-count separate charge of fraudulently impersonating foreign nationals.
In the statement signed by the Commission’s head, media and publicity, Dele Oyewale, “they each pleaded “guilty” to the charges when they were read to them”
They were all admitted as exhibits by the court.
Their devices and the N300,000 restitution, were ordered forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The convicts’ journey to the Correctional Centre began when they were arrested for internet-related crimes. They were charged to court and jailed.
