In a solemn ceremony held on Friday at Bukavu Barracks, Kano, Brigadier General Ahmed Mohammed Tukur assumed command of 3 Brigade Nigerian Army.
He replaces Brigadier General Musa Sadiq, who is now a Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja.
The change of command ceremony was marked by traditional military customs, including the change of insignia, signing of handing over notes, and the hoisting and lowering of flags.
Brigadier General Sadiq, in his farewell address, expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, for the opportunity to serve as the Brigade Commander.
He commended the officers and soldiers of the Brigade for their dedication and support.Brigadier General Tukur, in his maiden speech, pledged to maintain the peaceful atmosphere in Kano State and create a conducive environment for officers and soldiers to effectively carry out their duties.
He expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for entrusting him with this important role.
Prior to his appointment as Commander of 3 Brigade, Brigadier General Tukur served as the Academy Registrar of the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.
