Aliko Dangote Foundation Donates Ambulance, Medical Consumables to Lagos Hospital

The Apapa General Hospital has received a significant boost in its healthcare delivery capabilities with the donation of a brand-new ambulance and essential medical consumables by the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

The donation which was made on Thursday, is part of the foundation’s efforts to enhance healthcare services, particularly for children and vulnerable populations.

Receiving the donated items, Medical Director/CEO Dr. Lateefat Agbaje expressed gratitude to the Dangote Foundation, listing the consumables donated, including disposable aprons, face masks, hand gloves, and an ultrasound scanner.

Dr. Agbaje highlighted the hospital’s initiatives to improve facilities, including relocating clinics to enhance patient accessibility. She also expressed interest in collaborating with the foundation on pediatric and children’s healthcare services.

Dr. Francis Aminu, Director of Health & Nutrition at the Aliko Dangote Foundation, emphasized the importance of supporting quality healthcare services for Apapa residents, particularly children.

“If children are healthy, residents can make more economic gains for their families,” he said.

Aminu noted that primary healthcare is crucial, and the foundation’s support aims to strengthen secondary healthcare services provided by General Hospitals.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has a track record of supporting healthcare, education, and infrastructure initiatives across Nigeria.
