Makinde Approves ₦45m to Intensify HIV/AIDS Campaign

OYO, Nigeria – Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved ₦45 million for the Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (OYSACA) to strengthen its fight against HIV/AIDS.

Speaking through his deputy, Bayo Lawal, during the inauguration of OYSACA Ambassadors in Ibadan on Thursday, Makinde said the funds and recent purchase of test kits would boost the agency’s outreach capacity.

“As ambassadors, you are champions of change and beacons of hope,” Makinde told the newly inaugurated influencers, including Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Chief (Mrs.) Mutiat Ladoja, and Hon. Shina Peller.

OYSACA Chairman, Dr. Gbola Adetunji, described the move as a “new chapter” in combating HIV/AIDS, noting that the funds will improve service delivery and reduce stigma.

The ambassadors pledged to promote awareness, community mobilisation, and education.
