The Kano State Government has officially opened applications for the recruitment of certified MBBS doctors into state-owned hospitals as part of its efforts to strengthen the health sector and improve service delivery.
This development was confirmed in a notice issued by the Kano State Hospitals Management Board dated 25th July 2025, under the directive of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“All interested doctors with an MBBS degree who have been inducted by the Medical Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), including those trained outside the country who have passed the required assessments and obtained their MDCN certificate, are hereby advised to apply as medical officers to the board headquarters for job recruitment,” the notice read.
The directive was signed on behalf of the Executive Secretary by the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Aisha Bello Dambatta.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Have passed the required assessments
- Possess a valid MDCN certificate
- Reside within or outside Nigeria

Qualified applicants should submit their applications to the Hospitals Management Board Headquarters, P.M.B 3540, Post Office Road, Kano.
The initiative is part of the state’s broader push to address staffing gaps and enhance healthcare access across public hospitals.
