The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved the Katsina Youth Craft Village as a certified National Skills Qualifications (NSQ) Training Provider.

The approval, confirmed in a letter signed by NBTE Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Bugaje, follows a successful inspection of the centre’s facilities in Katsina and Malumfashi.

“This recognition is a proud moment for Katsina,” said Governor Dikko Radda on Tuesday. “It affirms our commitment to skills development and paves the way for a more self-reliant generation of youth.”

The approval, effective from June 24, 2025, authorizes the centre to train youths in trades including plumbing, welding, cosmetology, photography, and mobile phone repairs.

Coordinator of the centre, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi, hailed the development as “a historic leap forward,” adding, “This is more than just a certification—it’s a doorway to opportunity.”

The move is seen as a major boost to Katsina’s human capital development agenda.
