The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Health, has donated medical equipment valued at about N30 million to the Primary Healthcare Centre in Owena-Ijesa, Osun State.

The donation, facilitated by Senator Francis Fadahunsi representing Osun East, was unveiled at a community event on Tuesday.

Speaking through his aide, Bisi Babafemi, Fadahunsi said on Tuesday, “The Senator has been doing it across the Senatorial District and it is the turn of Owena Ijesa today. We have delivered in Ijebu-Jesa, Ere-Ijesa, Ibokun, Ife, Ipetu-Ijesa, and others.”

The donated items, totaling 42, include mattresses, diagnostic sets, thermometers, stethoscopes, and a sterilizer, all tailored to the health centre’s needs.

Babafemi noted, “The equipment is worth about N30 million. We have about 42 sophisticated modern equipment here and the Senator will still do more for the people of the district.”

He urged the centre’s management to safeguard and utilize the items for the benefit of residents, adding, “Our advice to the management of the primary health centre is to protect the equipment very well and ensure that they are used for the benefit of residents of the community.”

In response, the Officer in Charge of the health facility, Gbonjubola Sarumi, expressed gratitude for the intervention.

“I really appreciate our father, Senator Fadahunsi, for this kind gesture. God will continue to bless him. I want to promise that the equipment will be safe,” she said.

Sarumi highlighted the centre’s workload, noting, “Here in Owena-Ijesa Primary Health Centre, we have between 15 to 20 deliveries and about 450 patients in a month. This equipment will go a long way in helping our job.”
